Hiring Personnel

Based on my recent interview or job application encounter, below are some which I find my encounter not pleasant.

Recruiter from various recruit firms

I ever encounter one recruiter can even still call me when I did stated on my cv for agent please what app. 😒. Some can even address my full name. or separate my Chinese name. My godness isn kinda rude.

Hiring manager or HR address you by wrong name or did not read your cv/application form

This was my recent interview I encounter. Is a big organization, of course cannot be expecting them to remember exactly all the candidate details. But at least before you conduct the interview, spent a quick few mins to read thru the candidates information, This is basic courtesy.

There is a another experience which the interview was conducted on a Sat, when i reach the interview place the hiring manager can still ask me am I who and who but is  not my name. Veri unprofessional.

Non-logical or reasonable requirement

1.    Fierce to certain department. 

I mean workplace is a place for us to bring food to the table, if can be more harmony environment why require the potential employee to have negative vibes. Sometime too many negative emotion can lead health problems which is not good for us especially when we past mid thirties.

2.    Reply to work matters after office hours/on leave 

I not sure why this is a must even though your other department have to work 24/7 whereas your own department is work accordingly to standard office hours. Why is this not being review by our public sector? After office hours is totally a me time to relax after a day work. Got this particular hr throw a question to me asking me how would I respond when someone from the operation department asking on the request status after work. I replied the next working day, first thing to check and revert to the requester. I told them is not good to make a promise for something which you cannot remember whether you have proceed.

Shortly the hr shared that the system was web based and even the department hiring manager also do reply even when she was in China. In my heart os I was like what? This is ridiculous, the requestor should know the department work from what time to what time. If needed urgently they should have plan properly and not at the last minute informed. To me is very toxic environment. Why aren't the hr or upper management people to stop this culture. Some more the hiring manager still spoil market and respond. Unless is your own staff ask you of course you have to respond as they are not at the level that can make proper decision.  

This particular in picture still can call me around 7pm++ in the night and what app me to inform me who she is and which company. I do not want to respond until she has call me the next morning again. So scary, does hr work that late to contact candidates? Can't get hold me she can just what app her purpose of calling  which she did not. I had to turn her offer down via phone call. I cannot accept such working culture and also heard from her their big boss is very old and traditional thinking person. As right now my hair is veri bright color, their big boss will get a shock. Now is what era le, to think that this company exist for many years, still so old thinking, This kinda company is not the company I can look forward to grow and move even further with.
