Upgrading period

 Today I would like to share about my past learning journeys with various institute or learning centers.

SIPMM

I attended a online virtual class(for 1 month and 1/2 months. - Executive Certificate in Purchasing management two years back. 

The virtual class was about the guideline of doing the skill project. I don't really like the professor guideline, what slide need to optimize etc.

The course also involve a digital course whereby you can plan your time to take the digital course at your own place, pace & time. After completion, we can start the exam, I forget how many question was there, but the passing mark criteria I feel too high level. (pass of 80 marks). During the last virtual class, the so call professor fat shame me and another classmate say why we did not try to score above more than 80 marks?

Hello, we are here to gain knowledge and earn certification. Marks is not a priority, is just a assessment of how well we learn from the digital course.  He still can say the project we did can show to prospective employers. OMG!!! the slides was to hit 60 pages(the format was in power point slide), no employers will have the time to digest and read through the slide we do. They have access not just one candidate to go through. So this is very illogical to me and can never apply in today's realistic and busy working society.

Well one good thing I can really praise is the after the exam very fast I can get the e-cert immediately without much waiting.

NTUC Learning Hub

I attended a two day course  - Apply Emotional Competence to Manage Self At The Workplace 

I was very please with the lecturer and how he manage to engage us in activity like doing % exercise in groups or online game which he create using kahoot. Ohya the course was conducted over zoom. 

For the written assignment, I was able to apply what I learnt in the two day course. 

But the certificate I waited for one week plus than can download e-cert via my skill future portal. 

The Chartered Institute of  Logistics and Transports Singapore(CILTS)(partnership with Temasek Polytechnic)

I chanced upon a course on TP's website which is so much related to what I have doing in my career over recent years, is online course and skill future can be used. (I studied - supply chain management)

Advantage: I can attend the course as and when I like accordingly to my own time(course to be complete within the time frame given, otherwise the slides will no longer available for viewing once over). I also don't have to come across professor/lecturer who make unnecessary comments.

Disadvantage: if I have question to ask, I have no one to ask, I can only depend on my understanding or google the terms mentioned in the course. The process of getting my cert to me sent to me was long after I did my exam. I had check with the relevant person and she reply that 1st or 3rd week of the month than only I will received my e-cert. 

The exam system was pretty user friendly and wasn't too hard to handle. I did all the exam and have the remaining time to recheck if I have answer questions correctly. Thank god, I pass ( I scored  95% out of 100%, there was 20 MCQ)
